Let’s “face it”. Taking care of our skin is a very important part our beauty routine and one that should be started at an early age and continued through our lifetime. Some experts believe that skincare is good for the heart and soul. One thing is for sure. A proper skincare routine is essential to healthy looking, glowing skin, for a lifetime. Here’s a great skincare routine for flawless skin:
1. Cleanse: The first step is cleansing twice each day. Find a cleanser for your skin type. Are you oily, dry or a combination of both? There are many cleansing products on the market that you can find online, at your dermatologist, or at your local market. Keep in mind: Never sleep in your makeup. In the evening, remove makeup using a proper makeup remover, then use your cleanser. Be gentle around the delicate eye area. Rinse with warm water and pat dry.
2. Treat and Moisturize: Treating and moisturizing is a combination of drinking plenty of water, and applying a serum and moisturizer each day. For noticeable results, look for a serum with active and proven ingredients like Hyaluronic Acid, retinol, Vitamin C and peptides. Apply to your face, neck, ears and all exposed areas to provide anti-aging benefits to skin everywhere. At night, cleanse, treat, and then apply a moisturizer that includes ingredients that nourish and protect, while also preventing fine lines and wrinkles.
3. Exfoliate: Exfoliation is the removal of surface dry skin cells and considered one of the most important things to keep your skin healthy and glowing. Whether the skin is dry, oily or a combination of both, has acne, clogged pores, brown spots, has hyperpigmentation or showing signs of fine lines and wrinkles, exfoliation is imperative to promoting new cell growth. There are many products on the market from creams and gels to battery operated devices that use sonic technology. You can even use small silicone exfoliators when you cleanse. For more intense exfoliating treatments, refer to a dermatologist for the products that are right for you and how many times per week is appropriate.
Take care of your skin and it will take care of you!
