Body Oils to Combat Dry Skin

The cold winter air is notorious for drying skin out, leaving it cracked, flaking and uncomfortable, from hands so dry they snag delicate fabric to ashy, flaking legs and feet. It seems you’re constantly applying lotion, yet you still have parched skin. What I like to do during the winter is switch over to body oils, instead of body lotions.

Here are three of my favorite oils that will keep your skin hydrated and glowing all winter long!

L’Occitane Almond Smoothing and Beautifying Supple Skin Oil: This one is the one I reach for the most. AND it has one of L’Occitane’s largest cult followings, and with good reason: It’s a wonderfully decadent body oil made with more than 50% almond oil to help skin feel firmer, smoother, and hydrated. Almond oil is naturally rich in omega 6, and camelina oil, rich in omega 3, so it leaves skin feeling nourished and more supple. Plus, it absorbs quickly, feels silky and gives skin a subtle scent of fresh almonds, while leaving it feeling luxurious and moisturized for up to 48 hours.

Neutrogena Body Oil: This body oil from Neutrogena is a triple threat: It comes in fragranced and fragrance-free versions, it’s widely available and affordable. This lightweight sesame formula instantly absorbs into the skin, locking in moisture so skin feels moisturized, soft, silky and looks radiant.

Dior J’adore Dry Silky Body Oil: For all the ladies out there who love Dior’s iconic J’adore scent, this dry body oil combines it with a satiny-finish intense hydration for your entire body. It’s enriched with the moisturizing and relaxing properties of ylang ylang essential oil, this dry oil soothes and moisturizes as it enhances the skin tone. Its luxurious texture glides on easily and penetrates skin quickly, leaving the skin soft to the touch but not oily.
